Why We Started Mold Dawgs
Florida grows mold better than any state in the country. The summers are hot, the storms come daily, the AC systems sweat around the clock, and millions of homes stay sealed tight against the heat. Most of the mold that grows here stays hidden inside wall cavities and duct runs. Homeowners find out about the mold from a musty smell, from allergies that act up at home, or from a bad surprise during a renovation.
The usual ways of hunting for hidden mold all have the same weakness. A visual inspection only catches what the inspector can see. An air test says there are spores in the house without saying where the spores come from. Cutting open walls finds the mold eventually, but only after somebody guesses right. In every case, the homeowner pays for a search when what they need is a location.
So we changed the order and put the dog first.
How the Sweep Fits In
Our detection dog is certified for mold scent work. The dog's job is location: it sweeps the home and alerts where mold odor may be present, and the handler writes down every alert spot. What you do next is up to you. You can bring in a licensed mold assessor to test the alert spots, fix the moisture problem behind them, or book a re-sweep after repair work is done to see whether the dog still stops at the same places.
We Only Do Detection
We don't sell mold testing and we don't sell remediation. Nobody on this team earns more money when the dog alerts, and that is how a screening service should be built. When the sweep comes up empty, we tell you the sweep came up empty. Good news is a fine result.
